Alter Logistics works with all major barge lines, trucking companies, heavy lift crane vendors and container lines to move your cargo in the most efficient and economical manner.
Our Rock Island barge, truck and rail terminal continues to grow as customer supply chains seek out more efficient distribution centers and solutions. Additionally, we have other sites with barge, truck and rail access available for new development. Our intermodal terminals along the river can develop and build warehousing to suit and provide outside storage capabilities (see below).
Our specialty is developing solutions for you to access new markets for a competently advantaged supply chain.

- Newly renovated 500’ seawall for barge access.
- Additional river access possible with other conveyed bulk and liquid materials.
- Rail served by the Iowa Interstate Railroad with reciprocal connection to the BN-SF, CP.
- Interstate access: Iowa Interstate, I280, I80, I74 and Illinois State Highway Routes 92 & 61.
- Approximately 20 acres of open storage with asphalt and concrete pads throughout for cargo laydown.
- 3,000-ton concrete dome storage.
- New building development opportunities.
- 40,000-ton fertilizer warehouse:
- Inbound capable via barge, truck and rail.
- Outbound loading to rail, truck, container at 400 ton per hour load system.
